		<description>Of course the whole belief that the people should be the ones to choose who their leaders are continues to be a bold and radical one. There are plenty of folks who are not entirely comfortable with that process, hence continuing support for the electoral college, winner take all primaries, superdelegates, and other systems with the potential for subverting the fair representation of the citizenry. And of course we can have gross disparity in campaign funding, which is yet another way of tilting the balance away from fair elections. That all said, I agree with your idea about &quot;The American Idea&quot;, and I hope that overall we are moving toward it.</description>
