If one of my esteemed colleagues already posted on this subject, my apologies for the duplication. But I found this site and this particular post intriguing, especially if you enjoy the math of campaigns as much as I do.
In short, the site — Obama is Winning — suggests its authors believe if they say it loud enough, it will not only be but remain true. And the post — “The Real Magic Number is 1,627″ — makes a not-so-subtle-but-logical appeal to any sense of fairness those already (unfairly) infamous super delegates might hold.
[H/t Andrew Sullivan.]
If the people appeal to “fairness,” they come across as bleating pathetically. I believe they'd be more substantial if they instead referred to “democratic” versus “undemocratic” choices the super-delegates are in a position to make.
By the way, Pete, one thing I do agree with McCain on is his position on torture.

I'll be in STL this weekend and I'll have to ask the owners at Riddle's what they think of the race this year. Also, I suspect (as with the one other time, the last half-inning of the World Series the Cards won) that the owners will, on election night, take the KILL YOUR TELEVISION sticker off the television in the bar and turn it on for that special occasion in November.
The latest on McCain is here.
