Anti-Obama Ad Briefly On TMV Beyond Our Control (UPDATED)

NOTE TO READERS: It has come to our attention that an anti-Obama ad was briefly on TMV under the Google Ads section. It was one of those small line ads. It was the Muslim charge that has been made against him (see previous post since it’s related).

If you look, you’ll see THAT AD is gone now. These ads rotate. We don’t inspect each ad and neither this site or any weblog by running ads endorses each product or sentence in it. These are put on in essence by robot. We have no complaints with Google Ads, in fact (and have purchased some stuff ourselves from them).

But it was brought to our attention that it was on this site earlier. Check and — as this is written — it has vanished.

UPDATE: To clarify — and anyone who reads TMV knows we have done a zillion posts blasting the attacks on Barack Obama — the ad had a false charge..the one that Obama is a Muslim. And you have to couple THAT with saying the issue isn’t being a Muslim — there is obviously nothing at all wrong with that — but it is false and used to whip up anti-Muslim feelings.

Also, throughout the DAY these ads are changed and there may be ads for or against candidates. These are again put in by robot. We don’t endorse an ad asking people to vote for Obama, Ms. Clinton, Ron Paul, etc. Or asking them not to vote for them. These ads to provide revenue for TMV and blogs do run ads.

If you or anyone spots an ad like this in the future, simply drop us an EMAIL and if it’s a problem that needs to be fixed, we’ll try and fix it. Google Ads are rotated so that particular ad is gone already and since this is the silly season known as election year, there could be other political ads that pop up. Sometimes we’ve seen little ads on immigration or other political matters that we don’t agree with…but these are all rotated.

Here’s a link to a blog post about the ad that was on our site. We didn’t know until we saw the post.

Joe, you forgot the most important part. Other bloggers need to know which domain to filter out and how to do it so they won't have the same thing happen again. I hope you update this post with that info. I was targeted automatically too over at Donklephant and have since filtered out the URL. It's very easy to do.

    Best of luck!
