Joe- a lot of great (and hard) work went into the post- thanks!

Billary will continue to play hardcore political games. Assuming she and Obama both make it through Feb. 5 and are close in delegates, it wouldn't surprise me if Billary were able to wrangle the Democratic National Committee to seat the FL delegates at the convention. It would be ironic that the state which caused the Dems to lose to the Repubs. in 2000 would cause one Dem (Obama, who I think is far better) to lose to that polarizing political machine known as Billary.

I think Billary will continue to use the same tactics, including Bill campaigning. Over the years I've often wondered whether Bill was a shrewd political opportunist in courting the black vote or whether he genuinely was concerned about their interests. After the last week or so I think it's clear that Bill has only wanted their votes. It's great that the black community wouldn't stand to be played like that.

I as Clinton supporter want to congratulate Barrack Obama on his victory in South Carolina.

However let's focus stop this petty squabbling among ourselves and concentrate on the issues instead being Clinton or Barrack Haters.

As a Democrat, for me it is not a question of "My own candidate or nothing".

This is however what that I see is emerging among fellow Dems. If this does not stop, we will all be sourly dissapointed in November.

The most noteworthy item from the SC primary for me was not the order of the candidates, but the sheer size of Obama's victory. The last time I looked at the results it was only about 85% of the precincts reporting, yet Obama had more votes than Clinton and Edwards combined. That's truly amazing. That gives Clinton only one true victory in NH, but the margin there was nothing like in SC.

All that said, I still would bet my money on Clinton as the nominee. Super Tuesday is almost designed to have name recognition be as important as anything else, and Clinton has to win that battle. I think Obama needs some key endorsements in the next week.

Politics as usual isn't the answer to Obama. Where was Hillary election night in South Carolina? Why wasn't she there addressing her supporters instead of running off to Nashville for another Primary? Pretending that South Carolina wasn't that important and cozying up to Florida which was supposed to be boycotted? This is old-fashioned hardball politics.

And most Democrats are looking for something else.

We are tired of politics as usual. We yearn for a leader like John or Robert Kennedy to lead us towards the promised land of American potential.

Obama does a pretty good job at that! Hillary, avoiding the public after a loss, seems to be hiding behind the pants of President Clinton.

The Clinton years were good for America.

But looking to the future captures out imagination far better than focusing on what was. Obama connects with this and is developing political momentum unlike anything this nation has seen for years.

Bob
