   Is anyone really surprised? People like Stone are the lifeblood of the modern Republican party. They are its core, its heart.

   Deep, old, has been roots. “Top Republican operative” is a joke. This guy is a dirty tricks guy ala Nixion, but its not like we can't find plenty of Dems from that era just as easy right. He (stone) hasn't been a major part of national politics since an add he and his wife had for sex partners was made public in 1996. He lurks around the edges reliving his past glories. Top Republican operative indeed.
