A Great Centrist Site Says Goodbye

But its writers will still be around on the Internet. For instance, Pete Abel and Bridget Magnus are here now at TMV. But READ THIS and scroll all the way down.

A word on moderate and centrist blogs, and that in itself can be controversial. But all of us who write on blogs do our best and give readers our best take, which may not always please readers on other sides of arguments since sometimes we don’t take a pure pro or con position. Moreover, centrist and moderate blogs really don’t have the built in “network” that many progressive and conservative blogs starting out often do — to be able to be linked to by big like minded blogs that will help expand readership.

So it’s a bit of a slower growth spurt for centrist blogs. But as anyone who has talked with me by phone (and I AM more long-winded on the phone than in my LOOOONG posts) can attest, all of us here at TMV genuinely enjoy reading and linking to blogs of all kinds and hope we can play a modest role in helping moderate and centrist blogs to grow as we (hopefully) grow.

Central Sanity had class. Its writers have class. And now they’re moving out in the blogosphere, helping other blogs have class.

It isn’t R.I.P. It’s thanks for helping us before and thanks for helping all of us in advance in the future.

"Progressive" sites often have sugar daddies like Soros. But what big money boosts conservative blogs? Just interested.

Isn't RedState or LittleGreenFootballs owned by a conservative publishing company.

Seems the Dutch lad welcomes Pete to TMV, but the snarky comments of his moderates tell another story. Seems TMV is just Kos Lite. we need more NRO and Critter links here I guess.

Sorry to see it go. I thought Central Sanity was a class act,and I enjoyed reading there more than I enjoy visiting Moderate Voice. I confess, Pete Abel is probably the only reason I would visit MV these days. I haven’t visited as much over the past year as it has gradually evolved into a sort of Daily KOS lite environment.

I remember Jack Kennedy and I don't think Che Guevara hides at TMV.
  • I have class? Who knew?
