Unbound by Promises and Biased toward Israel

According to an op-ed in the Egyptian Arabic newspaper, Akhbar Elyom, translated as always by WatchingAmerica.com, the Arabs really, really don’t like Bush, whose visit this last week is seen in the context of the betrayal of their very own Mubarak back in 2004, when Bush in a meeting with a Israel’s Sharon went back on agreements made with Mubarak just 48 hrs earlier at Crawford, Texas. Hence, the title of the article, “Unbound by Promises and Biased toward Israel

As is so often highlighted in the Arabic press, it’s not just the perceived unfairness of the policies of the Bush Administration in the Middle East, but it’s also the hypocrisy that they perceive when they set the actions against the words:

The result of his obsessive policies has been to plunge much of the world into conflict and to spread the phenomenon of terrorism … Besides all this, at the same time he leads the call in the face of international popular resistance, to self-determination and liberation.
