Democrats, Race & Foolishness

This is such B.S. Bob Johnson tried to paint Obama as being a druggie while Clinton was off fighting for black people. First, she was doing no such thing. Second, what’s up with that? It’s bad enough that he tried to use a black man w/drugs “in the neighborhood” stereotype, but then he tried to cover it up with some lame excuse that he was referring to Obama’s community service. Uhm…I might be an idiot, but I’m not a fool. Even an idiot knows better than that. Look at his statements.

“To me, as an African American, I am frankly insulted the Obama campaign would imply that we are so stupid that we would think Hillary and Bill Clinton, who have been deeply and emotionally involved in black issues — when Barack Obama was doing something in the neighborhood; I won’t say what he was doing, but he said it in his book — when they have been involved,” Johnson said.”

You were talking about his community service in Chicago? Yeah, right.

And what if he was snorting some coke, which he admitted was a mistake in that same book? The image of black men and drugs weren’t so offensive to Bob when he was making millions off of it while running BET? Oh yes, I went there.

For someone who’s activities “in the neighborhood” cost him a $1.5 divorce settlement, I would stick with the issues if I was him.

  • Rudi,

Your comment disappeared due to an error (which has been fixed) in the comment system. Please leave it again. I apologize for this.

Spot on, Angela. When did Bob Johnson become someone who can speak for African-Americans?

His excuse for the comment doesn't even make sense. He was trying to contrast Hillary's alleged work for African-Americans with Barack Obama's..... time spent helping African-American communities? WTF is the right. That doesn't even make sense.

I don't smoke, am bothered by smoking, but add me to the list of people who thinks this picture is cooooooool. All that's missing is for him to take the sunglasses that chump Terrell Owens was wearing INDOORS during a post-game interview last night, and put them on himself (Obama) -- or wear the same sunglasses that Sinatra or...JFK would wear.
  • Rudi
Rob Johnston is to Hillary as Ken Lay was to Bush, Texas and the Republicans. He's playing surrogate to win political favors and buy influence. Maybe RJ can do a Al Jolson, Jack Benny and Charlie Chan festival over at BET(end snark).
  • DLS
Clinton is definitely the establishment and big-money candidate.
  • Idiosyncrat
It doesn't exactly surprise me that when they dems get down and dirty and eat their own, they do it with politically-correct bullcrap. I can see playing the race card in the general election, but in a democratic primary? Stupid. Alas, here it is. And here's the media, this site's in-depth over-analysis for example, right on cue to lap it up and make it into the controversy of the century -- which it really isn't. It deserve no more than passing mocking commentary, as Angela made above.

As I've said before, people better toughen up because this is nothing, NOTHING compared to what awaits either of these sensitive souls come the general election.
  • Don't mean to get off subject but did you see the way T.O. cried about his QB, DLS? T.O. may be a chump but he's a gamer on the field. Never takes plays off. But the crying... Sheesh...

I am enjoying the fracturing of the Black Democratic Establishment (BDE). Very entertaining and long overdue.

I don't like T.O, Mr. T. I grew up in the Bay Area and saw the rise of the 49ers as the greatest sports organization, ever -- they were Rome. (Once their owner got indicted for mobbish misconduct, it never was the same.) T.O. was a mere afterthought to the much-hyped J.J. Stokes ("the next Jerry Rice"), but it was T.O. who became good. (Yes, he's good.) However, it's gone to his head and I find him disgusting. What is it about so many pass receivers?

    "Black Democratic Establishment (BDE)"

Will they attempt to coalesce around Her Highness?
  • DLS
    Edwards has taken Obama's side.

Could be he knows he's a VP at best and why not go with Obama?

The clever deflection of the far left for Obama. If they dont fit in with their agenda then he is to be marginalized. Brow beat, insulted and made sure that what he says in not worth listening too. From what I can tell he is a very important proponent in the black establishment. Because he is for Hillary the prevailing strategy is to turn him into Don Rumsfeld, Alberto Gonzalez. Dick Cheney. Brow beat them into the ground for daring to stand against their candidate.

    Pathetic.
  • As a former offensive lineman in college (left tackle), I can say that receivers were the most irritating people on the field. We tolerated ours since they good. But off the field... Well... Let's just say it wasn't smooth as silk.

I expect segments of the BDE will "coalesce around Her Highness". They owe the Clintons and won't back off. But I'm intrigue 'bout Somebody's "far left to Obama" angle. Need to look into that more.
  • DLS
I find rushing to be the real soul of football. I'd like to see pass rules revised so it's not so easy and the receivers aren't so spoiled any more.

I haven't heard anything from Sharpton & Co. Waiting until after Feb 5, maybe?

Both Clinton and Obama are presenting themselves as moderates in order not to lose the mainstream and to get swing voters who are not impressed by the GOP field, it seems to me.
