The suffrage needs to be qualified and even weighted. You'll never see it, though.

As for the media, it's no different in the "alternative" or "new" media field insofar as predictions and analysis are concerned, including this site.

Walter: a good piece, save for the fundamental flaw in the argument. The people do not know what they want.

Watch C-Span and your jaw drops at the ignorance of most people on most issues. Yes, there are valid reasons to oppose intelligence tests or tests to filter out bad or dumb voters, but it's damned depressing to see ignorant hicks, refried Socialists, out of touch materialistic teens, senile oldsters, and a whole host of people who are either selfish or simply out of touch, being able to effectively negate forward progress int his nation by the few people who actually live in and deal with the real world- not merely their stereotypes and dreams.

The problem always has been the electorate. This is why the damned duopoly exists.

R's and D's need to have a few other parties join in so that voting blocs and coalitions can form. Dualism means almost permanent stasis, whereas multiple parties means almost permanent change by necessity.

Yet, this is exactly what the D's and R's do not want. This is why Hillary Clinton needs to lose on the D side, and someone like Huckabee should win the R side. A Huck-Obama general election would mean change in one way or the other.

But that ain't gonna happen! The media is, basically, worthless in any regard to this fact.
