Stein finally got something right! Of course this hearing would be a circus. Almost all of them are, which is why the Bush-bashing hearings in Congress aren't respected by intelligent Americans. And a circus like this, with the federal government sticking its nose into whatever subject is in the news, is even less defensible.

Ballplayers may have money and fame but they don't have the political clout that the energy CEO's have or that Dick Cheney had when he testified about the CIA leak without being sworn in. We don't get to the bottom of things because the truth hurts the politically powerful. No one seems to mind when its Roger Clemons or Barry Bonds who is being dragged through the mud. Its a sad commentary on our system that those inside the beltway can't get through the inevitable stonewall that surrounds a scandal. Presidential commutations and pardons only encourage wrongdoing within the administration.

Maybe Clemen's knows who killed Foster or how many were on the grassy knoll. When energy chiefs testify, no oath, with Clemens maybe Romney could waterboard a confession of his dealings with the Black Socks or even Socks the cat. Seriously, what a waste ot time and money, even the Mitchell report.
