Presidential Primary Season Haiku Commentary

Here’s a special original Campaign 2008 commentary in haiku form by TMV’s favorite witty poet, Michael Silverstein, aka Wall Street Poet.

Primary Season Haiku

By Michael Silverstein

Former president
Decides to support his wife
This is most prudent

Populist Edwards
Seeks to be the poor man’s friend
Poor choose other friend

Biden qualified
Richardson experienced
Neither has a prayer

Seeking real change
An angry electorate
Elects Bernie Sanders

Analysts ascribe
Huckabee’s loss at polls to
Atheist backlash

Des Moines Register
Picks Hillary and Oprah
Cancels subscription

Lieberman likely
Republican keynoter
Connecticut weeps

Voters now believe
That Gulianni backers
Are mostly legit

After denying
That he is a flip flopper
Mitt Romney recants

Suck it up, Connecticut! (Lamont voters excluded) It’s too late now!

How could so many of you be so dumb to fall for Lieberman’s lies during his campaign? Well, no matter. You’re stuck with him. Actually, we’re all stuck with him! For five years there will be a voice of treachery and war-supporting in the Senate instead of a voice of reason. No oversight, no campaigning for Democrats…sigh. I hope you’re happy!
