It was inevitable that the fawning media would eventually turn on Hillary Clinton. She’s not charming and charismatic like Bill, and they wouldn’t be doing their jobs if they just let her coast to the nomination. So as the press have turned up the spotlights, they’ve revealed what we all knew already — she’s not a particularly remarkable candidate. She just has a lot of money, a big machine, and her sex (first woman president!) going for her. On the negative side, she has less experience in elected office than the “inexperienced” Barack Obama, she is a control freak, and she represents the old and tired politics of the boomer generation. Oh, and she’d bring Bill back to the White House… that gives me pause.

I suppose I could place this comment in any number of posts on this page today, but wouldn’t it be nice if bloggers and media types reported and opined on meaningful issues rather than presidential candidates spinning those issues? The candidates might even *gasp!* be forced to focus on those issues if the media paid attention. This is no better than celebrity gossip under the guise of something more important… Somebody wake me up after Iowa, please.

AFter eight years of President Clinton there were fewer Democratic Congressman, Senators, and governors than there had been when he took office. Political acumen he may have but it doesn’t seem to extend beyond himself.
