Every single candidate seems to have some major obstacle to their electability. With Hillary its the Clinton scandals, Obama his inexperience, Edwards his inability to even bring in the votes from his home state in ‘04. On the GOP side we have Rudy’s character issues, McCain’s unpopular immigration stance (though I really think the fact that he worked with Senators like Kennedy and Feinstein that’s hurting him with conservatives!), Fred’s late entry into the race and lack of vigor, and Romney’s Mormonism. Huckabee is doing well in Iowa, but will fail to catch on with the general public due to his past statements on evolution, gays and AIDS. So they all have a hurdle to overcome.

This is good to see, although my cynical side suspects some of HIllary’s graciousness is based on a realization that every time she attacks, her poll numbers drop. Regardless, it’s refreshing for cordiality to return to the stage.
