Beating a Dead Horse
About a month ago I blogged about the Nobel Prize Winner DNA Scientist who got a hell of a lot of flak because he claimed DNA played a role in the superior intelligence of Europeans/whites over Africans/blacks. These kinds of revelations always spark nasty arguments by people who read too much into it or people who are so eager for something to legitimize their feelings of superiority.
What I realized is that DNA means nothing; at least nothing that really matters. Everyone is capable of whatever they are individually capable of and based on a general consensus, most people of all races are pretty stupid. Watch the news, read a paper, or just go outside and you’ll know what I’m talking about. The number of people capable of high levels of anything are so miniscule that they can’t logically represent an entire group made up of billions of people.
Ironically, Dr. Watson is back in the news because of his own DNA. “An analysis of Dr. Watson’s genome shows that he has 16 times the number of genes of black African origin than the average white European does — about the same amount of African DNA that would show up if one great-grandparent were African, said Kari Stefansson, the chief executive of deCODE Genetics of Iceland, which did the analysis.” DNA Pioneer’s Genome Blurs Race Lines – New York Times
Damn, that miscegenation is sneaky! A publicity agent for Dr. Watson (a publicity agent-what’s up with that?) said that her client has ‘no comment’ on this. How much does the average European have? I guess if he didn’t have that 16x more in him, he would have been smart enough to know he’d cause a thunderstorm before he said what he said.
Honestly, it doesn’t mean anything. There much more important things we should be getting up in arms about. I just think its a little ironic.

I was tempted to say more about something related to this (lefty politicizing of the transplant waiting lists, which involve genetic matching) but have chosen not to, because it’s an oblique or budding tangential issue.

There was a series on PBS about genetic tesing, and quite a few Afro-American celebrites particapeted.
They were hoping to discove to which tribe(s) their ancestors belonged.
Those who discovered that white tribes were more of a factor than black ones were beyond surprised. They seemed to be flabbergasted.
Considering that the creature that crawled out of the promordial ooze is ancestor to all of us, the details of exact racial composition seem underwhaelming.
white people without a question have a superior dna and genome other people would call that racist but other than excepting that truth and have to look in the mirrior and know that you have inferior dna these people would say anything not to except this for the rest get over it evolution will help you out in time
