Did you know that there was a segment on NPR called “Is Waterboarding Torture?” Why don’t we look it up, on…gee, I don’t know, WIKIPEDIA.
Waterboarding is a torture technique that simulates drowning in a controlled environment.
Good gods, how low has this country’s morals dropped to the point that we are now having debates because we are unsure what the answer to that question is?
“And just think: there’s an entire political party in this country that still thinks this is OK.”
And just think; the party referred to likes to dress itself up as the family/christian/conservative values party! The irony is nothing short of staggering.
That is one hell of an article. Accurately highlights Bush’s staggering incompetence and the reasons why torture is not something intelligent, modern nations consider standard operating procedure.
While I like reader remarks where they are good, the reader remarks on that Web page are junk compared to what people post on here. The article itself was interesting. And I still believe Sam has a point, that what may have been confessed on one or both of those tapes might have been identification of highly-placed Saudis as well as Pakistanis, the implication of which the level they occupied in their governments would prove to be embarrassing or worse.
Yes, that article is a must read.

OK is an understatement. They seem to think it’s great.
