Agreed. Three things to hide: the nature of the interrogation sessions; any revelation of the identities of the interrogators or anyone in our government that was mentioned, and Saudi (and Pakistani) officials’ names the interrogate-ee may name.

Congress needs to press on this, and rather than have Congress be too political (and repellent) about this, just press hard in a politically neutral manner (and get GOP as well as Dem members of Congress to participate, not limited to Arlen Spector!) and let the political exploitation of this be done not by Congress but by — Dem Presidential candidates.

I think Davebo is on to something with Gerald Posner’s excerpt. That was probably the most damning thing on those tapes, not a face that could easily have been pixelated or the fact that harsh methods were used.

If it implicated the terrorist turnstile nation of Saudi Arabia, then I am not surprised.

This nation has been taken over by a crime family, surrounded by consiglieres with buck teeth, narcoleptic major domos and wet rags.

We need an antibiotic for this superbug of corruption.

Just when I begin to think that things can’t get any worse, they get worse.

I was in France when the Abu Graib photos came out. I thought that by the time I got home, there would be a fulll steam shake up of those in charge.
The result: some low level ‘bad apples’ go caught.

When torture became a topic discussed in the Senate, I thought we’d finally see the end of it.
The result: outsourcing torture, instead.

We are sinking in a bottomelss pit.

Regardless of what was on those tapes, the dishonesty of this administration gets progressively worse as time goes on. If President Bush was the president anywhere else in the world I would not be suprised if he would be announcing right now that he was going to be the “President” until his death (remind you of anyone?). Even people who were close to the Nixon administration are appalled and astonished at what they see in the Bush administration. Bush is like a mini Hitler with out so much killing (there is some though).

There’s a distinct possibility that the tapes were not destroyed because they showed torture, but because of who those being interrogated implicated.

Or perhaps it’s a bit of both.

But Gerald Posner’s claim is interesting. See it here.

Could be a Saudi connection.
