Then, too, your solutions ahve consequences of thieir own. People have a way of forgetting that, when they announce the miracle cure.

How about no one wanting a job on a parole board under your conditions, for starters?

If the criminal justice system depends upon the professional judgement of those involved, then those individuals should be liable for very bad mistakes. If a parole, probation, or early release was politically motiviated, then those making the judgement should be held responsible just like physicians are responsible for their mistakes.

Let the parole/clemency board go out and buy liability insurance just like every Hazmat carrier in the country.

Also, let them established objective criteria that would demonsrated that they have meet their duty.

So, what is your solutiion?
Put everyone arrested away for life? Or kill them?
That is the only sure way of guarding against their potential for criminal behavior in the futuee

Why not make the government official who paroled a convicted criminal responsible for all of the harms that the parolee does. The government officials may take a more limited view of early release, parole, and probation if they knew they were responsbile for any potential harms.

And before you consider the idea ridiculous, you may want to know that government officials are already response for the harms created by the handling of hazardous materials. Why should the public works people have civil lawsuits while the criminal justice system be exempt from liablity for the actions and their judgement.
