Is this something like the fake-named “Mainstream Caucus” formed by some big-government Republicans in Washington after 1994, who were aghast at even the prospect, the mere threat, of long-overdue reform and retreat from being Dems Lite, still in FDR’s and LBJ’s shadow, with little light of their own being emitted or created?

It reminds me as well of the similarly fake-named group that formed more recently. They just want to define the “mainstream” as a nice, fat, friendly, happy big government, Business As Usual — the Boat Dampers (fighting any rocking).
