Now YOU can hear a voice from The Moderate Voice at 1 p.m. EST, a few minutes from now.
The program will be hosted by Jazz Shaw. The link.
PS: I will be on this program, even though I am way behind on events and my blogging due to some personal matters and family crises. My blogging on TMV should resume today and be back to normal by the weekend.
I figure you, Joe, or one of the other editors is monitoring this, so I’ll use this as the temporary “general interest” thread on this site’s current top (most recent) page.
Many of you liberals detest federalism, and some of you have stated that not only liberals, but conservatives, often are selective in claiming federalism and “states’ rights” (which is the core of federalism, though “local rights” should be added) to justify a position or action.
Well, take a look at this. It’s certainly important and more important than some of the things that have been put on here.
“Destruction of distance” (from modern, cheaper, easier, and faster, transportation and communications, which has made us a more mobile society) and a desire for standardization (one set of rules rather than fifty) do not themselves merit what is illegitimate, unconstitutional federal encroachment into what correctly and properly are state and local affairs.
But it’s done all the time by the federal government, anyway. A court case now may affect this practice.
More. You see, sales taxes are at stake…
