Cardboard Cut-Out of Obama at Mitt Romney Denver Rally Told to “Go Back to Kenya”
A cardboard cut-out of Obama told to “go back to Kenya” and called a “Muslim community buddy” at Mitt Romney rally in Denver Tuesday.
KDVR: “Go back to Kenya!” one person says. “Strangle him!” says another. Some of the comments were directed at the ProgressNow staffers holding up the cut-out and the video camera. “Is that your Muslim communist buddy?” one person asks. “Why are you supporting an Islamist, Marxist idiot?” asks another. “He looks real good standing on a street corner,” one passerby says. “In about three months, he’ll be doing that all the time.” The Obama cut-out was also wearing a button that said, “Thanks, Obamacare.”

Cute, I’d like to see a Romney cutout at a Obama rally. Just as peaceful?
BTW: Without the camera there, you couldn’t pay me enough to risk life and limb holding either cutout- too many guns and knives around.
Dduck — I agree with you. They couldn’t pay me enough money to hold such a cut-out. In the wrong neighborhood, that could spell trouble, on either side of the aisle.
While I’m guessing there would be no shortage of vitiol hurled at a Romney cut out at an Obama rally, I’m pretty sure they wouldn’t get Romney’s nationality, religion, or political affiliation so completely wrong.
I know I’m sure I said some pretty rude things about Bush, but I never suggested anyone kill him (nor do I recall such casual discussion/suggestion of that amongst my friends – who by all accounts are mostly well-educated meritocratic “liberals”, but not big-L Liberals). I stood up to people who suggested Bush was part of a some 9/11 plot to bring down the US (i.e. the “truthers” or “Loose-Changers”). I’m also sure there’d be some rude things said to a Romney cut-out at an Obama rally, but I tend to believe they would not be quite on the same level as some of these folks. Based upon the comments, it’s pretty clear where they get their news/commentary/opinions.
Slam, he speaks French and is a jerk (today) filthy bloodsucker with magic underwear and he doesn’t genuflect to the garbage collector at six in the morning. And, I’m sure they would use thew N word on him. Crowds often decline to their lowest level and feed on each others “witty” remarks, think of English soccer fans..
1) He does speak French
2) Jerk Filthy bloodsucker – opinion, hard to quantify, but subjectively possible
3) As a Mormon its entirely possible he wears temple garments
4) He does not genuflect to his garbage man
While those comments are pretty unfair and not relevant to Romney as a candidate, they are not demonstrably untrue. When they start calling Romney a mexican catholic socialist who never attended Harvard and has been sponging on welfare his whole life, we’ll be comparing apples to apples. Because those things, are easily verifiable falsehoods regarding Romney.
Someone please refresh my memory, but has there ever been a modern presidential election this vitriolic and savage? Yes, I know back in the day with Adams and Hamilton et al, but I mean in the last 50 or so years. In fact, has there ever been an incumbent president so hated by the opposition party that they flat out refuse to cooperate with him in any way? The name calling, the religious inferences, doubting his very citizenship?? This has very little to do with political ideologies and a whole lot to do with race. We see before us a very terrified and ignorant white supremacist mentality who is now using a political platform as the tree limb. These kind of people use so little of their brains I’m sure it’s a real struggle for them to keep their involuntary functions operating.
