Unfortuantely, the arguments against affirmative action have moved beyoind reasonable analyis to political end-game strategies, whete a goal is set to ban the programs and arguments are produced to fit the goal.

At the root, is America's inability to accept responsibility for the fruits of generaltions' long
racism. Even slavery gets only lip service, and an apology for it is unthinkable for so many.

The progress of the past on this score is approaching making a 180 deg. turn to become denial once again.

Like Creationism or Intelligent Design, the core beliefs of these opponents can seldom be reached by reason. Non-sckence is claimed to be science, and immorality becomes a moral value.
Yes, I think refusing to accept responsibility for the past is immoral.

What can be done about it is another issue.
Since reason can not reach deniers of all sorts, it's hard to find the tools to do effective battle.
Justice in this country comes with a hgih price tag. and the underdog is handicapped from start to finish, especially when profit rules every sector of society.
