Nom, generally agree with your points.
It’s not hard to understand where Mr. Netanyahu is coming from. He appears to be living in the past in his belief that American foreign policy is run by the same right-wing think tankers who got us into the Iraqi fiasco. And that American Jews will all rally around his views — or be bullied by their fellows into doing so.
A word of advice to this gentleman: The near-term existential threat to your country is not the nuclear policy of Iran. It is the view of a growing number of Americans that the Greater Israel, we-can-do-whatever-we-want-always policies of your government will appear so antagonistic to American interests that our support will waiver. And that, sir, is a real existential threat to Israel’s security.
As a non-Jewish American I grew up with stories of the Holocaust and have great empathy for the struggles of the Jewish people and the horrors they have lived. The same sense of justice that informs that view is deeply offended by Israels treatment of the Palestinians.
Mr. Netanyahu I have two pieces of advice.
1. Put your own house in order.
2. Stop meddling in the affairs of my nation.
MS, bingo.
