If you want to see the future of the U.S. look at the election for Mayor of Baltimore. You will find little mention of the general election for mayor in the media because the real election occur a couple of months ago when the Democratic Primary selected Shelia Dixon as the next mayor of Baltimore.
In either 2016 or 2020, the presidential election is probably resemble the 2007 election for Mayor in Baltimore. The Democratic candidate and presumptive winner will have been selected probably 9 months earlier in a couple of primaries elections and the Republicans will be running a figurehead candidate with no chance of winning.
so, the real question is what will the U.S. be like when national politics begins to resemble the urban politics of today?
