The Democratic candidates starts out knowing that they are going to win every state that Kerry won in 2004. If the Democrats put all of their effort into winning Ohio, Iowa, Colorado, Florida, and New Mexico, the Republicans lose in a rout. If the Republicans have to spend a single dollar in Virginia or Arizona, then you know that the Republican candidate for President has no chance. The only real question in 2008 is whether the Democratic Party gets 60 seats in the Senate or if they have to wait until 2010.
