I hope this doesn’t end up being a terrible mistake. We have such trouble as a species learning from our history, learning from our mistakes. We have similar issues in Michigan (the UP) and I know there are a lot of people who want the wolves gone because they see them (wrongly) as competing with hunters for game, especially deer. More education would help, but some people are determined to cling to folklore and anecdote. Farmers should of course be allowed to protect livestock and be compensated for losses to wolves – which I believe are relatively few (documented).
