Like Reagan, Ron Paul, embodies the revolutionary spirit of the America People. He has nowhere to go but up.

But will he get past the part where he says he wants to eliminate the IRS to the part about phasing out Social Security and eliminating all federal regulatory agencies? How many people who hear all of his positions will really vote for him?

Who IS Ron Paul? Do your own homework.
NOBODY explains Ron Paul
BETTER than Ron Paul himself!

Here is an interactive audio archive of
Ron Paul speeches and interviews as a resource in chronological
order.

I'm watching the state of presidential election politics with amazement. It encapsulates how our cour country is changing.
The GOP seems to be about solving problems only by attacking other countries and religion (a combination amazing in itself).
R. Paul, as a libertarian, is subtracting the war component.

THat leaves only the Democrats to wrestle with the growing domestic problems we are facing. It can't be good when only one party is dealing with these issues, while the other acknowleges their extistence only with crticisma and disdain.

In the competition for who is most conservative, there is a competition for who can do the least to sustain the cohesivenss of society Given enough Ron Pauls, we'll break up into one person nations, forever battling the war of privilege against the disenfranchisement.

It's the perfect setting for extreme extremism, and the death of common ground.

I'm sorry you're upset. Seriously, I mean that. But words have a communal meaning. And according to Dictionary. com, unelectable has the followling meaning:

Being such that election, as to high office, is difficult or impossible

It's true that Nader is a native-born American citizen over the age of 35. But in acknowledging that he has practical impediments to elective office, I am not advocating burning the Constitution.

I hope all that html works.

Not elected and unelectable are not the same thing, right?

Schwartenegger is unelectable. Nader is not going to be elected. Once we stop understanding the difference we might as well burn the Constitution.

As to Nader being "unelectable"--he's run for President several times.

He didn't get elected.

Right?

Ron Paul always makes me think of Ralph Nader. Where is Ralph, anyway? Now, if you want someone who's actually competent to de-corporatize, de-militarize and de-imperialize the country, it'd be Ralph Nader.

As for other candidates incorporating some of Paul's ideas, well, they already incorporate the free-market side.

Look, anyone who's met a libertarian knows they're mostly about keeping their money, and they bury it, as all people bury their motivations, under layers of ideology and rhetoric. And since all our candidates are right-wing (http://politicalcompass.org/usprimaries2007), they'll just vote for the person most likely to let them keep their money, probably Hillary, since the Republicans have been doing such a "horrible" job and their candidates are making a big stink about continuing down Bush's path. Whether they can shake off their primary jingo enough to make it in the general election, who knows. If they can, the libertarians may go that way.

I don't know all that much about Paul, except that Lowtax hates him. I generally have a dim opinion of libertarians (see above), especially the unrealistically . But it's damn refreshing to have an anti-imperialist on the stage. A pity it's just the loopy ones like Gravel (and Paul), and not a real, substantive, respectable one like Nader. Of course, "everybody knows" that Nader's "unelectable." I just heard it somewhere, it must be true. Oh, right, since we can't check a box next to a name if they don't have big sponsors, silly me.
