I’m glad we could save a moment of hate for those threatened by the fire.

If you were referring to my criticism of the idiot blogger, which has nothing to do with the fire itself and the real problems ("hate" being a typical Big Lie of the Left toward any negative remark, no matter how accurate, correct, earned, warranted, as well as even gentle), you just managed to be less accurate than the blogger who was quoted; "congratulations."

Joe picked a stupid source. He also supplied a link and nobody can expect people never to visit where links point. In fact, what Joe quoted itself was stupid enough to arouse my suspicions. Pick an idiot source, don't complain if the source is called an idiot. This was particularly irksome given that I was subjected to stupid (and worse) anti-nuke behavior in the past on this site. (Anti-nuclear people are behaviorally as well as logically "challenged.")

I'll think about a more personal post. I have really tried to keep the two things separate, but in this case doing my shows takes me into the scene of the crisis. Also: YES I will quote from people and quote parts I consider relevant. Newspapers and blogs do that all the time. That was an interesting quote. I did not quote from the parts that were NOT quoted, obviously, just as when you read a newspaper interview you only get the quotes that reporters use that fit the story. I make no apologies and we don't try a person politically each time they make an assertion on something that is not part of a politcal statement. I agree with several people above how every single comma and punctuation mark has to be made political these days. There ARE things that transcend politics and the concern for the populace is one of them here. I have not heard one person ask someone "are you a liberal...conservative..do you believe in nuclear power...are you a democrat...are you a republican" here either in san diego county or anywhere else where I have been,. I am now in Ontario, CA and will be in Rancho Cucamonga and Downey tomorrow, then head home..where I face a day of cancelled shows. I will probably visit the families i refugee centers again (and never ask where they stand politically..that is not our issue here)

Thanks for the updates, Joe. I can't believe this same thing happened 4 years ago. Is there a reason there is more press coverage this time?

Joe,

I'm hoping you'll post more aabout yourself = your home, family, friends.

To be in the midst of this must be hell. The life-goes-on manner of continuing your shows is reassuring and a lesson in staing cool headed.

Both sides be pulling that crap, egrubs...and THAT is why I am completely disenfranchised with the left and the right, hence, why I come to TMV in the first place...it's unfortunate contributors on both sides play the card you're talking about, and DLS is one of those contributors on the right that pulls that crap and there are those on the left (who I'm waiting for to come in here spewing hate against DLS's hate) who pull the same thing. It's amazing and sad at the same time. Completely deplorable.

I'm glad we could save a moment of hate for those threatened by the fire.

Without researching other things said by those quoted in Shaun's article, could you properly demonize Shaun and those who are threatened by this very real tragedy?

Have you any shame?

Time after time we see stupidity from the anti-nuclear nut cases, like the one you chose to quote.

The idiot goes on to say:

And please say a prayer for Southern California, which is threatened constantly by San Onofre Nuclear (Waste) Generating Station -- threatened with millions of deaths, trillions of dollars in damages, and massive quantities of grief and pain, which would make what SoCal residents have suffered so far from these wildfires trivial by comparison.

Typical anti-nuclear idiocy!
