Insults

Dear Readers, please do not destroy the substance of your comments by larding them with insults and ad-hominem attacks. I often disagree with my fellow TMV bloggers but feel no need to insult them. As Joe says, differing ideas do NOT cause brain cancer. I just read the last 20 comments and find the insults annoying. If they persist, expect warnings followed by banning.

   First time here. Looking for 1 or 2 moderate blogs without all the bomb throwing because I tend to follow suit. Like most of you, I am sure, I’m trying to learn & offer opinions to possibly change minds. It doesn’t work if we piss them off & put them on the defensive.

   It’s true that the tone set by one or two off-the-wall comments can infect a thread, or a site, in its entirety.
   As a reaction, it’s hard not to get angry and to stick to the ‘I disagree’ guidelines.

   Oddly, some repeat offenders just become easy to ignore, because when you see the name, you already know what nonsense will follow.
   I have no idea how that works as an overall policy, however.
