The True Face of the Muslim Brotherhood?

The Egyptian Muslim Brotherhood has recently released a draft of its first party platform. Citing several controversial clauses, some analysts are arguing that the draft proposal hints at the Brotherhood’s true authoritarian nature. Is this an accurate analysis? If not, what exactly does the document say about the organization and its goals?

The muslim brotherhood are terrorists, every muslim terrorist group is an offshoot of the muslim brotherhood, including al qaeda and hamas. There’s nothing to analyze and puzzle over as to what their true intentions are. You’re a complete idiot to even be confused as to what that group stands for.

Another case of watch and see.

Since they are not united, their future could go either way.
IMO, it’s always a precarious situation when religion and government are intertwined, whether in Islamic countries or the US. Everything depends, then, on the particular people in power at a given point in time and on their personal interpretation of what the religious mandates are.
While we wait for the future to unfold, it’s the civic code of law that will determine more immeditae
    effects.

Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt: We Won’t Recognize Israel (MEMRI)

Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt General Guide Muhammad Mehdi ‘Akef has stated that his movement does not and never will recognize Israel, the London-based Al-Hayat reported Thursday.
He added, “The Muslim Brotherhood does not have anything called ‘Israel’ in its lexicon….If they want to live among us, this must be in the framework of Palestine. If they want [their own] state – we will respond with resistance.

I’m with LL on this one. If anything the muslim brotherhood is further proof that islamic extremism is no where near the fringe element in arab society we’d like to wish it was.
