I can actually agree with DLS about something? I know that I feel the same way about Jones as Shaun feels about Steinbrenner. America’s Team, my ass. They’ve never been my team and never will.

Torre will be hired by another club in a year or two, no problem. So, if he still enjoys the day-to-day activities of managing, he will have the opportunity.

And, hey, I get to agree with DLS in my dislike of the Dallas Cowboys.

Torre is a good manager, but he’s never made teams better. When the Yankees had chemistry, and he had Don Zimmer, they were almost unbeatable, as they were in the late 1970s. The 00s are looking like the 80s Redux, and a new mgr to manage the kids they have is needed.

Don Shula, Tom Landry, Red Holzman, and many other great sports leaders simply get passed by. Torre should move on and enjoy life and give a younger guy like Girardi or Mattingly a chance.

Joe has no reason to be ashamed of his career- as a Cardinal, as Met, and as a Yankee. The man is a legend, as was Billy Martin, whom Joe had huge shoes to fill. And filled them well.

Steingrabber is the Trump of Baseball.
It’s the players and fans what make the team, not the owner.
