Anthony Weiner Rides Again?
Disgraced former Democratic Rep. Anthony Weiner may again stick his…neck…out and present himself for public office.
The New York Post reports he’s seriously eying a run for mayor. (I wonder if he’ll announced it by text message?)
Leno and Letterman must be opening the champagne now..

You have to seriously question the man’s judgment. If he is going to run for any office he should have run for his Congressional set after he resigned.
It is hard watching a boy trying to grow up in the public eye.

I actually have some sympathy for Weiner. Much of what happened was his private business and none of ours. He did show bad judgment and then compounded the problem by lying for a week. While I don’t agree with him politically on much he struck me as a pretty effective politician. Maybe he needs to set his sights lower for a while but he deserves a second chance. Lord knows if Charles Rangel and Marion Barry can get re-elected Weiner has a shot.
He is a passionate advocate for progressive goals, but he should expend that energy outside of public office. I hope he finds his place. This goes to show how insidious political offices are in corrupting a person’s knowledge and acceptance of self.
Running after a scandal like that? That takes balls.
