(VIDEO) Tough New Obama Campaign Ad Pounds Romney
If Team Obama is saving the toughest, then this campaign will be even more brutal than my earlier prediction. Its latest anti-Romney ad leaves little out. In a short time frame, it absolutely pounds Romney:

As governor Mitt shipped jobs to India? I haven’t heard that before and it just makes Romney even more underwater in my book. Were these MA state government jobs?
“If Team Obama is saving the toughest then this campaign will be more brutal than my predict.”
Maybe. But not by any stretch of the imagination more brutal, more dirty and more under-the-belt than what was done to Obama in 2008 (unpatriotic, palin’ around with terrorists, not a Christian, a Muslim, not a real American, traitor, etc) or the Kerry swiftboating before that.
Congats to the Obama people, with all of us calling, texting, twitting, facing, etc on their computers, smart phones, ipads, huckleberries, etc., watching TV, all on their Asian made products, if they work. If not, call India and, if you are a masochist, enjoy be tortured for hours by some idiot repeating everything back to you that you just said.
Point is, the “crime” Bain is accused of, outsourcing, overseas manufacturing, has been going on for decades, so don’t get so bent out of shape that Bain did some also.
If Mitt was not so inept, he would laugh in Obama’s face and insist on talking about real stuff like tax reform, a better HCR package and how to fix the economy (or try). (Can kicking squared, reigns.)
Both these guys are empty suits.
I wonder how Germany and Japan handle their outsourcing. I know both coutries consumers are more likely to buy native than to look for a deal at WalMart…
For all the outsourcing and flat world BS from the likes of Friedman, you can’t outsource everything.
If only Mitt had any new ideas on tax reform, health care reform, and how to fix the economy, he might produce them while laughing in Obama’s face. If only… Of course the voters would be laughing at them, also, judging from what little we’ve seen by peeking at Romney’s website.
Ohio, my fantasy wish is that some of those campaign/PAC millions will go to think tanks/economic analysis firms, whatever, ASAP to design tax reform and health care plans instead of stupid attack commercials. As Colin Powell would say, overwhelm them.
Dust off Simpson-Bowles, Glass-Steagall (joking)as a starter and let the Dems do some obstructing. (I said it was a fantasy.)
I sure will be glad when the next 116 days have passed.
dd
I agree. We probably won’t see them in a campaign, but it would be nice to see them in action after election. We all have to decide who is the most likely to try to implement them.
ohio, I am normally an optimist, but I view us, the electorate, as a mouse that both parties are trying to catch using b______. Once either party wins, they can go and nap, kick the can down the road, etc. I hope I am wrong and you are right, maybe something will get done, we are on the edge of becoming a Greece.
dd
I feel the same way. Maybe we should watch “The Mouse that Roared” one more time.
For sure nothing is going to be done unless we get more active and kick some arse.
Clearly Romney does not believe in the American people. And it’s a travesty that when he outsourced Massachusetts state jobs to India he used TAXPAYERS MONEY TO EMPLOY PEOPLE IN INDIA.
I don’t want a president who uses my tax dollars to employ people overseas.
“Clearly Romney does not believe in the American people.”
I don’t believe he cares about them very much either.
Realy, Stock&Z, well I guess that’s that, no need for further discussion. Vote for the saint and ignore the American people hater.
Due to the nature of our interconnect world economy, US tax payer dollars will end up being spent in foreign lands. Of course, send government jobs to India is a completely different story….and just adds onto Romney’s legacy at Bain.
I dont understand why this stuff didnt come out during the Rep nomination process. Romney should have been better vetted by the RNC.
The main reason is that it really isn’t very accurate. The “Outsourced” jobs? That was Citigroup who handled the food stamp cards for Mass. They used one of their call centers in India for that job. There were no “State” jobs and nothing that would lead one to believe any other company would use a call center in Mass either. What poor people should get less food so they end up calling Ark. instead of India?
If I understand…. Romney “privatized” the food stamp program to Citi…. giving them a government contract (which means giving Citibank money to run the program). Citi in turn had their call center in India handle calls from MA residents about a government program. I wonder how much Citi made off the government contract. To top it off this is the same Citi that required multiple bailouts…. that required more taxpayer money to stay in business.
And that’s OK to outsource jobs to a private company who then outsources work to a foreign country?
I don’t understand why there were no “state” jobs involved if people in Mass called India with questions about their Mass state food stamps. If someone has a question about their state program I always thought they would call people in that state… and the state would employ people to answer the phones.
Oh (light bulb goes off). I get it now. There were no state jobs involved because the jobs were all in India. Makes perfect sense.
“Realy, Stock&Z, well I guess that’s that, no need for further discussion. Vote for the saint and ignore the American people hater.”
I’m only offering my thoughts on Romney’s record, actions and words. I’m more than willing to discuss anything that disproves my opinion.
So I’ll get this started. What programs does he support which will help American people?
Stock, how can anyone discuss anything when one side says an American candidate for the presidency doesn’t care about or believe in the American people.
There were no state jobs because the jobs were always going to be handled by a private company and not the State. Sure they could mandate that whoever they used only conduct operations inside the State but no one had any interest in that, not Romney or the Dems, because that would insure that the cost increased leaving less money for actual food and most likely giving worse service. God knows those dozen or so $10 hr jobs would of really made a big difference
Just as an aside after the contract ended Mass required the jobs to be brought back to the US. So they ended up paying more for a call center in Utah. Yep that helps Mass.
EE, if you have ever had to talk to a person in an Indian call center, you would gladly pay extra to pay to speak to someone in Utah.
As a matter of fact, if I remember correctly, a computer manufacturer has a special plan that allows you to call a U.S. person.
I don’t know if the call centers get paid by the minute, but the Indian ones seem to waste a lot of time, repeating and repeating whatever you say to them. Just sayin.
“how can anyone discuss anything when one side says an American candidate for the presidency doesn’t care about or believe in the American people”
Yeah, I’m tired of the birthers and the Tea Party too.
Like anyone who has a credit card or has ever called customer service for anything of course I have spoken with call centers in India. They are like everything else. You get some that are very good and others that suck. The biggest difference I’ve seen is the ones in India stick to their script a bit better but for the most part there is little difference to the customer and the rest is uncomfortably close to racisim if you sk me. Or maybe just countryism if I can be allowed to make up a word. When people don’t get what they want the fact that the person is in India gets a heaping helping of blame when it shouldn’t. Sure a couple of times I have had some slight language issues, battling accents if you will, but the good call centers only use very good english speakers and I deal with much worse on a daily basis here in Texas and spanish speakers.
dduck, “Stock, how can anyone discuss anything when one side says an American candidate for the presidency doesn’t care about or believe in the American people.”
And that is my opinion based on what I see and interpret from Romney’s thoughts and actions.
I’ve expressed a desire to see other evidence, which no one has presented. I’ve given my reasoning on the subject. I’m waiting for someone to give an alternative view.
Without evidence to the contrary I don’t know why I’m expected to just change my mind and suddenly think Romney would be a good president with the interests of the American people.
So again:
What programs does he support which will help American people?
I’ll point out that I’m not the one who is being close-minded here. I’m willing to look at Romney’s programs and values to counter my own argument. So far no one has stepped forward with any counterargument.
roro80…. and let’s not forget about ALL the Republicans who have signed the Norquist no-new-tax pledge.
And that was signed by people who are supposed to be willing to negotiate for the good of the country. But they’ve already taken away one negotiating point. And they do so for their OWN political fortunes. Not for the good of the country. Talk about greed and callousness (only in it for themselves and not helping the country).
Stock, most people like to have a discussion without an up front negative assumption that the other side has like you do. If I said Obama doesn’t care about his family, now lets discuss how many kids he should have. Or, he is a Dem so he is also a socialist, and so on.
No sense asking people to debate when no matter what the other side says you automatically can use the “he doesn’t care about Americans” card. That is insulting and untrue and no amount of “evidence” can overcome an attitude.
Please vote for whom you please.
Roro, “Yeah, I’m tired of the birthers and the Tea Party too.”
Me too, as are most Reps.
“Me too, as are most Reps.”
45% of Republicans believe Obama was born outside the US. That puts them in the “birther” category. Not a majority, but certainly not a fringe.
“Me too, as are most Reps.”
Most.
