House Republicans have again repealed the health care law. Newsy.com tells us what it means:
Interesting chart here.
I have to agree with the Democrats on this one. This was a political charade and a waste of time by the GOP. The ACA is in many ways a bad bill, but it’s time to suck it up and work on making it better since it’s not going away.
States, hospitals, insurance companies, physician’s groups, etc were all sitting on their hands waiting for the Supreme Court decision. Those groups are now moving forward on the assumption the ACA will take effect. Overturning the act (which can’t happen until next year and only if a whole lot of stars align for the GOP) would be extremely disruptive. The GOP is correct that uncertainty is bad for the economy, now they need to avoid injecting more uncertainty. The cow’s out of the barn, the toothpaste is out of the tube and the GOP needs to move on.
What DG said.
If I were a Representative, I would not have voted. The entire Democratic caucus should have simply walked out during the vote.
Hey, 33rd times the charm!
