IUPUI study finds dandelions grow stronger with global warming
A new study reported in the current issue of Weed Science reveals that rising carbon dioxide (CO2) levels will drive dandelions to grow taller, stronger and more productive.
Unless you love dandelions, this is not a good thing.
Don’t forget all of us that will just so thrilled by all the extra ragweed pollen that also comes with warming.
Maybe now the holdouts will see reason. Pollen people, POLLEN!!!
My philosophy of life is “Take it easy, consider dandelions flowers”. Now I can have bigger flowers on my lawn.
The greens are edible (if you like that sort of thing), you can make wine from the flowers, and they are a good early season source of nectar for honeybees. Not all is lost!
I like dandelions!
I once planted them in an outside window box.
Archer-Daniels-Midland will see to it that dandelions aren’t cultivated for sugar production or for ethanol.
