What if Ron Paul storms out of the Convention and endorses Gary Johnson? Further question: what’s to stop Johnson from offering Ron Paul a spot as his running-mate?
Possibly significant bit o’ trivia: Ron Paul was the Libertarian Party Presidential candidate in 1988.
Ron Paul has said no to this, and there is speculation as to why, but I’m not not convinced just yet that it’s inconceivable. I suspect Republicans are working hard behind the scenes to make sure Ron Paul doesn’t entertain the notion, although you have to wonder what they’d have to say or offer to get him to stay on the reservation.
