This whole episode highlights my main reason for thinking we need to get out of there sooner rather than later. There isn't any grp in Iraq that wants to reconcile. They are all willing to kill for whatever share of the pie they can get, Sunni, Shiite, AQI doesn't matter. There is no one for our troops to support in hopes they get control of Iraq.

Why not pull out and let them settle this the old fashioned way? They obviously have that in mind anyways. At least when someone is firmly in control at the end of it all we can try deal with them and make some progress. Plain and simply is there is not one grp wikth any chance of winning in Iraq that isn't a bunch of zealot thugs out for themselves and to hell with anyone else.

Excellent, and much needed post.
This is something all members of Congress should read. In listening to the debates, I often get the impression that many (most?) of them remain very badly informed about Iraq and its many facets, even after seeing first hand what tragic results acting in the dark can bring.
