Chick Flicks For Everyone

Jun 26, 2012 by

I used to dread Saturday nights when my wife would drag me to a “chick flick.”   The exception was Nora Ephron films. When Harry Met Sally and Sleepless in Seattle made me both laugh and cry and Julie and Julia was a real treat.  Well RIP Nora Ephron:

Nora Ephron, an essayist and humorist in the Dorothy Parker mold (only smarter and funnier, some said) who became one of her era’s most successful screenwriters and filmmakers, making romantic comedy hits like “Sleepless in Seattle” and “When Harry Met Sally,” died Tuesday night in Manhattan. She was 71.

Thank you for the laughs and the tears.

Wouldn’t you love to see heaven through Ms. Ephron’s eyes? I know, she was Jewish, but wouldn’t it be fun?

I am not a believer in heaven or hell but I have already seen the world of the very best man/woman relationships through Nora Ephron’s eyes. For that I am thankful.
