How does voting act as a 9/11 memorial considering that about 25% of the U.S. House members did not even have an opponents, about 90% of incumbents are automatically re-elected, and how 80% of the American people automactially vote for a Party label?

That’s freakin hilarious coming from the Hartford Courant of all places.

What lessons should we take away from this, the sixth anniversary of 9-11? There are no easy answers, no black-and-white solutions. The “us vs. them” mentality dividing our country serves nobody except those who tear down America. Our strength is our freedom to argue, to debate, to criticize and modify ideas until they actually work. But we can’t do that when we are separated into sides that do nothing but attack each other while weakening themselves with their incestuous echo-chambers of non-ideas. And while our so-called leaders and the main-stream media (we can’t call them journalists anymore, can we?) fan the flames of hatred, it is the American people and the Iraqi people who are left to suffer. That is why we must vote, but not blindly. Not along party lines. We must vote as informed citizens, with our conscience and our common sense.
