Another blog asked for readers’ opinions on the possible forgery of the tape and had the link. I have to say that given the other videos that have been released by AQ it’s a very odd duck. Video frozen in place for a huge chunk of the recording while the voice goes on with no apparent problem? A shorter black beard for OBL that doesn’t have a trace of gray? The quality and image size I was watching wasn’t good enough to look for more telling details in the face, as in whether it was as lined as earlier images or not.

I didn’t realize the 72 virgins “re-virginated.” I always assumed they were granted as wives to the Muslim martyr. Either that, or single use and disposable.

Be careful if you are going to search the Quran for “evidence” of Islam’s evil and demand passages be purged. Genesis 19 isn’t exactly evidence of a loving God or a history of women’s/slaves’ rights in the Middle East.

“If it had been another group or agency putting out a fake bin Laden tape, there would be all kinds of news stories and web site disavowals coming from the Al Qaeda camp. That has NOT happened. So itâ€™s safe to assume the source is the terrorist group.”
I’m not so sure Joe, I think it is possible that they would wait and see if it fit their purpose.
