I say this because very many Jews trace their ancestry back to Russia (including all my fathers side of the family) so I suspect that plenty of Israelis wouldn't jump to conclusions about all Russians, but just might about recent immigrant Russians. The words "integrate" and that "many serve in the IDF" (unlike regular Israelis, who ALL serve) indicates that they are not fully members of the society. Probably the worry is that this will stir up ill-feeling that is already brewing against the Russian immigrant population. In other news, put this in the "what were they THINKING?
