Off to Northfield

I’m heading back to college tomorrow (senior year — very scary). This week has been a nightmare of packing and travel plans, and presumably the next few days will show similar anarchy before I can truly settle into the dorm. I’ll try to get back to posting as soon as I can.

  1. Lynx says:

Dorm in your senior year? I thought that by then most folks had moved into shared apartments?

Small cultural curiosity: In Spain, most people don’t move out at all in college, at least those who live close to the cities. The universities are fairly equivalent in their quality so people usually just go to the one closest to home, and to those of us who are urban, that just means taking the metro. No stigma associated to eating your mothers food throughout college.

  2. Carleton guarantees housing all four years, and its not like I gain a huge advantage by living in the midst of the cultural mecca of downtown Northfield. A lot of seniors stay on campus, and we get to draw into really nice dorms as a result.
