Well lets think about that. It seems like we have two masses converging at the end of the year that will require something that neither political force wants.

COMPROMISE!. We have a deficit requirement that if no action is taken by congress automatic cuts to programs takes place. We also have tax policies that will raise taxes on everyone if no actions take place. So if neither party is willing to compromise on their positions, we have an economic bomb that is going to explode on January 1 that will have a negative effect on economic growth from both directions. Less money for consumers to spend due to tax increases and less spending by government due to deficit reduction requirements of previous actions (or non actions) by congress.

So lets not “tune out” all of 2012 as this is going to get very interesting to see who blinks first and who gives up something to protect something.If neither blicks no one gets anything.
