Jury Finds Edwards Not Guilty On 1 Count; Judge Declares Mistrial On Other 5

Former presidential candidate John Edwards was found not guilty on one of six campaign fraud charges. The jury was deadlocked on the other five counts, leading the judge to declare a mistrial on them. The former Democratic senator was accused of using campaign contributions to hide his pregnant mistress during his 2008 run for the White House.

    Ok, I wasn’t there for this trial, but that just doesn’t sound right.

    Is anyone surprised? The laws are so vague even someone who is not a lawyer could jump through the hoops that can be used to evade a guilty verdict.

    And the tax payers only got hit for 5-6 million on this trial. The justice department will no doubt go after him again and spend multi millions on another trial because this was one of the first under these laws and they do not want a loss.

    Money well spent?
