In the comments sections, I've written what I've regarded to be near masterpieces, only to watch my work disappear into the netherworld of the blogosphere, either because my internet explorer pre-emptively shut down or because of problems with previous version of TMV. There's something truly demoralizing about spending an hour writing a post or comment in response/rebuttal to someone else's previous post or comment, only to have it never see the light of day.
