An Apology for the Confusion from Dr. E.

Between this afternoon and evening, the article “Alberto Gonzales Resigns from The Carriage of Death, Carreta del Muerto” has been on TMV in three different lengths and versions, including all chopped up. I am so sorry. I feel like the commedian trying to unfold a new-fangled folding chair meaning to sit in it, but I got all tangled up in it and its sort of sitting on me now, instead.

WordPress. I am still learning it. And I am not good at being able to understand WordPress instructions written in Aramaic. I do better if someone shows me, but there’s no one here except us mice. So, I put first ‘final draft’ up; then realized I’d left out a para. Went back, corrected, re-posted and then accidentally erased 2/3 of article. Sigh. Went back, first ‘last draft’ had disappeared completely, so rewote in the gaps. Reposted. Then saw that ‘comments’ had been turned off. Spent 20 minutes trying to figure out how to turn them on again. Reposted again. Most of the article is there now. The missing sentences here and there have gone to cyberheaven I guess. I.am.not.touching.the.article.again.

My apologies if I confused you. In the kingdom of the confused, they probably put my name in the hat many times as nomination for queen… or maybe chimney sweep or something.
With kindest Regards,
Dr.E.

  1. Don’t worry we’ve all been through it. Also, nothing is as confusing as my BEST posts!!

    Clarissa,

If it’s any consolation, I’ve had my own share of flubs on TMV. In the comments sections, I’ve written what I’ve regarded to be near masterpieces, only to watch my work disappear into the netherworld of the blogosphere, either because my internet explorer pre-emptively shut down or because of problems with previous version of TMV.

There’s something truly demoralizing about spending an hour writing a post or comment in response/rebuttal to someone else’s previous post or comment, only to have it never see the light of day.

Thank you both Joe and Nick. I appreciate being in good comapny. I just wish there was like a “catcher in the rye” for cyber stuff, so that no matter how far the words got flanged, ‘something
out there’ could catch them if you so deigned, and bring them back every time. Let me know if you invent this… kind of like “undo” for Internet
