I actually wrote an article at The Coming Realignment about the American Freedom Agenda back in March. I actually find myself in agreement with much of what Bruce Fein, David Keene, and Bob Barr have to say. It's funny. No one questioned Bob Barr's commitment to conservatism back when he was in Congress leading the impeachment effort against Bill Clinton. But now that he's criticizing Bush's policy, the Republican Party either dismisses him or ignores him.

NicR – Isn’t it ironic that Bruce Fein and Bob Barr are now Libertarians and are scorned by the 28%’s. I wonder what these people were saying when Clenis’s impeachment was led by Barr and Finn?

It’s hard to argue against the possibility of legitimate mistakes. People screw up. It goes with being human.

It’s easy to argue against the lack of practical oversight to make sure the mistakes, as such, were legitimate.

And, as always, 2 people can play the cherry-pick-an-article-off-the-internet game.

In this article, McConnell states it has to be “foreign-to-foreign” to qualify for warrantless.

So, basically, Barr is saying the eavesdropper could make a mistake……..or, disobey the law. Well, just how does ANY legislation preclude those two possibilities?

Once again, the evil mastermind Bush, dupes the pitiful rubes in congress. How many times does this have to happen? How many times must a mouth-breathing, pampered since birth, dimwitted, spoiled brat trick these 435 jack-asses before they learn to read the legislation that they are voting on and vote with their own consciences and minds without the benefit of a NY Times Op-Ed to show them the way?

And they complain that the Iraqi congress is ineffective? Imagine how effective our representatives would be if they had to risk the life and limb of their families and themselves just to serve and for a lot less than $150M/year?

By the way, does anybody know of a card game I can get into with some congressman?
