I think Glenn Greenwald hit the nail right on the head. The MSM is trying to spin these approval ratings as vindication for Bush and the Republicans, but it's not at all.

The public doesn't want the Democratic Congress to be more conciliatory toward the President and his policies (especially on Iraq). What they want is real change. They want feet to the fire.

Too bad the Congress is doing the exact opposite. Although I guess that shouldn't be too surprising. I've always said the Dems and the Republicans were more alike than different. I'm sad to be proven correct.

Bring on the 3rd parties!

Democrats control the Congress; they do not dominate it.

Ah, yes, that certainly should let them off the hook.

So, there is not one iota of idea, activity, legislation that could be brought up by the Democrats that could garner 60 affirmative votes?

Wow! I had no idea they were either that partisan or that incapable until now.

The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results.

Our bloated beauracracy is nickel and diming every issue. Political candidates are now contestants on "Political Survivor".

I say we put them all on an island for 4 weeks and see who comes out alive.
Mark Burnett, you listening?

Does anyone know of a place where one can see approval ratings by local constituents of their own congressman or senator? They will certainly be higher, and I wonder how much. That might be a better electoral statistic... perhaps.
