According to Jules, Representative Bob Filner (a Democrat) suffers from pre-traumatic stress syndrome: it seems that, on his way to Iraq, the honorable Mr. Filner attacked an United Airlines bag claim employee. Head on over to Jules’ blog – I especially liked the “you can’t stop me” part.
Jules shows that this is not exactly the first time that a Democrat misbehaved like that.
It seems to me, though, that Republicans are not innocent either. Having said that, “you can’t stop me” is a great line – one to remember. I am sure that Rep. Filner will hear that one at every party he attends for the rest of his life.
Mvdg- You are entirely correct that a sense of over-entitlement to special treatment knows no party. High-powered Washington insiders are treated to a kid-glove approach from law enforcement that condones and encourages bad behavior. This should be as unacceptable from our elected representatives -despite their exalted sense of privilege, as it would be for a lowly hourly worker.
I hear that line goes over real well at airports these days.
I think I would rather be the party of rage than the party of torture.
The megalomaniacs of Washington all suffer from “do you know who I am?” syndrome.
What a great deydream.
I say ‘You can’t stop me’, and it works!
