Yahoo! News reports that Governor Mitt Romney won the Iowa straw poll as expected. As I wrote yesterday, a mere victory would not be enough for Romney: he would have to win bigtime.
And he did.
All in all, he got (almost) 32% of the votes, which is almost twice as much as the runner-up. The runner-up is Governor Mike Huckabee. He surprised – he won, in total, 18% of the votes, which is not bad for him – to say the least. In fact, it is a great result for the former Governor of Arkansas. He has now truly put himself on the agenda. The logical result: both he and Mitt Romney will get more attention in the media.
Congratulations to both. All in all, these two are probably my favorite Republican candidates – although I also greatly respect Ron Paul. Mitt Romney is very experienced, very knowledgeable and a great leader. He is in many ways the opposite of George W. Bush. He does not make decisions based on intuition. He makes decisions based on arguments and a good look at the facts. He is not afraid to question his own beliefs.
I am proud to be an American when I see the way the straw poll seemed to cut through some of the hype created by the media.
Back about 1915 or so we had a politician named Woodrow Wilson that accepted a bribe to create the Federal Reserve. They were a group of very powerful bankers and businessmen from around the world at the time. Through the monopoly of being the source of our money and by being outside of our government, or paying any taxes, they have built up a fortune that, I believe, includes owning most of the politicians of the world.
It is going to take a determined, We the People, to restore law and order in our government before we can restore law and order in our once great nation.
“I am a most unhappy man. I have unwittingly ruined my country. A great industrial nation is controlled by its system of credit. Our system of credit is concentrated. The growth of the nation, therefore, and all our activities are in the hands of a few men. We have come to be one of the worst ruled, one of the most completely controlled and dominated governments in the civilized world. No longer a government by free opinion, no longer a government by conviction and the vote of the majority, but a government by the opinion and duress of a small group of dominant men.”
-Woodrow Wilson
Romney’s win is not that impressive, when you consider the millions he spent on TV commercials, buses and sending Romneys to every corner of Iowa. Huckabee, who reportedly spent only $150,000 is the real achiever in this vote. If he can raise some serious money now, he can challenge the front runners or end up running with one of them.

Romney is a great leader? Really?
He’s just another politician with absolutely no convictions that he wouldn’t sell out in a second if he thought it’d win him the election. See his recent flip-flops on just about every semi-liberal position he took as governor.
