I am finding a very interesting divergence in Republican feelings out there. There is a feeling of inevitability that a Dem will be President. There is also a sense that no matter how much certain Repubs may hate all things Clinton, there is a certain comfort level among many Republicans that they could actually vote for Hillary and feel she will be a good leader. i find numerous Repubs who say they voted for Clinton (Bill) in his first term, and feel they may vote for Hillary this time.

I honestly think the nominee will be Romney, despite the 8% polling. He is doing well in Iowa and New Hampshire- which is what counts the most. If he wins in these primary states, he will pick up endorsements and campaign contributions, while the others will fade. Giuli has too much baggage for GOP primary voters in the heartland, and Fred has waited too long to enter the race- which to me indicates he doesn't have enough energy to pull it off.

McCain no longer is really a viable candidate because of his immigration stand- and the fact that he has worked well with prominent liberal Democrats like Russ Feingold and Ted Kennedy. The right-wing base can't abide that.

"Romney at 8%"
Wow! I knew he isn't the front runner, but how come he so totally slipped recently? I don't like any republican candidate, for sure, but come on, conservatives, is he really that worse than Rudi???

This is a pretty amusing comment for the Obama camp to make...

"National polls may go up and down before people actually start voting, but their irrelevance will not,"
